Shadow Art Fair The Shadow Art Fair is being held this Saturday, July 19 from noon to midnight at the Arbor Brewing Company's Corner Brewery, in Ypsilanti. Meant to focus less on the national scope of this week's big Ann Arbor Art Fairs and more on our rich local arts scene, it's always a quirky and rewarding event. The Shadow is refreshingly human-sized, and a great way to find out what's happening with homegrown creativity. |
 Featured Events State by State With contemporary writers like Sarah Vowel, Jhumpa Lahiri, Dave Eggers, and Myla Goldberg, State by State: A Panoramic Portrait of America is a fresh look at our nation. Fifty contributors write about fifty states in this new book of essays. Co-editor Matt Weiland and contributor Saïd Sayrafiezadeh will talk about his book on Mon., Oct. 6, 7 pm at the Downtown Library and show a short, captivating film about the book, featuring 19 of the writers who gathered together to read aloud their original essays. Books will be for sale and a book signing will follow. Cosponsored by Shaman Drum Bookshop.
