The disappointment of losing the State Class A Tournament final game to Ferndale, despite a fine effort, all but faded away for Ann Arbor High basketball players yesterday when the school held a rousing student assembly. "You're Still No. 1 With Us. Welcome Home," reads the sign above them. It takes the entire starting five to hold all the trophies and awards garnered by the squad in the past few weeks. Holding awards are, (left to right), Bill Fraumann, regional championship trophy; Tim Wadhams, Six-A League championship trophy; Ed Oxley, state runnerup trophy; Don Dates, district championship trophy, and Capt. Earle Higgins, a State Legislature resolution commending the team. Looking over the impressive lineup of basketball players and hardware are Coach Ed Klum and Principal Nicholas Schreiber (far right). The Pioneers won 19 games and lost only four during the season.
