Signs of Summer: City workmen are removing leaves from the two municipal wading pools at West Park (shown here) and Burns Park in preparation for the summer season of the Recreation Department. The program, opening next Monday, will include supervised play periods in the pools which are equipped with shower-type sprays. Leaves shown being removed by tractor-mounted scoop and dump trucks are intentionally packed in the concrete pools to prevent cracking from freezing during the winter. The pools are favorite spots for many youngsters.
