Description

Eager Ann Arbor school children crowded around the touring replica of the famous Liberty Bell on the Courthouse lawn this morning, but not for long. A steady spring rain dispersed the visitors and abbreviated the bell's showing here within an hour of its arrival. Before the rains came, however, five Mack School children tolled the bell as others watched. John W. Rae (dark suit at right), county chairman of the event, presided. George F. Williams (left) of Erwin Prieskorn post of the American Legion assisted in the ceremonies. The facsimile of the Liberty Bell is on a state tour to stimulate the purchase of government bonds.
