'HOPE' SPRINGS FROM LITTLE THINGS: Mrs. Arthur S. Aiton, 2020 Seneca Ave., whose well-known paintings are signed simply E. T. Aiton, has implemented the trade tools of the average gardener into a deep symbolization of hope in her painting of that title which is reproduced above. Ann Arbor's War Gardeners will recognize tools that will be oft-used this summer in the hand trowel, the twine ball, the plant pots and the working gloves of the gardener included in the painting. The work is on exhibit among others in the Rackham building on campus.
