Good Friday Tradition
Following an evening Good Friday service, members of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church carry a replica of the tomb of Christ. Church members annually carry the tomb from the front of the church to East Kingsley Street down Kingsley to Fourth Avenue and south on Fourth to the parking lot in back of the church. Prior to the march, a cloth replica of the body of Christ is taken off a cross and placed in the tomb. The church at 414 N. Main St. will hold a Resurrection service at midnight today. (Community Good Friday services were held at First United Methodist Church - Story on Page 3.)
