More than 2,500 milk bottles which do not belong to the Ann Arbor creameries that collected them are handled each day by the Ann Arbor Milk Bottle exchange. The exchange, at its headquarters at the home of Manager Louis Altenbernt on Joy Rd., in Webster township, separates the bottles and returns them to their respective owners - for a consideration, of course. Bottles from every state in the union reach the Ann Arbor exchange. Mr. Altenbernt, on the truck, is shown with two of his helpers unloading bottles to be separated.
