MAKING MOST OF HONEY BEE'S WORK: Mrs. Ruth H. Hoover of Clinton is trying to educate Michigan beekeepers to the use of the product of their hives. She is finding new uses for honey as a sweetening every day and passing on the information to other beekeepers, through recipes published in Michigan Beekeeper, a monthly trade magazine. She has demonstrated multifarious uses of honey, too, before the general public at the Michigan State Fair in Detroit. She and her husband, Guy, are beekeepers themselves. Honey cookies were in order in the top picture, while in the lower photo Mrs. Hoover is inspecting one of her jars of canned fruit. She uses honey in place of sugar in all of her canning.
