Santa Claus Arrives: Santa Claus landed this morning in a helicopter at St. Thomas School yard. He was met by Mayor Cecil O. Creal and others and taken to his "igloo" in the 200 block of Main St. in the fire chief's car. Santa will talk to the children at his "igloo" (which is a plastic paradome atop a portable stage) 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 4, 12, and 19. Besides those Saturdays, children may talk with Santa at the igloo form 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays until Dec. 23. About 50 children saw Santa arrive in rainy weather. Weather more appropriate for the season is forecast.
