Above are shown two views of the ground-breaking ceremony held yesterday morning at the "Christmas Seal" camp for underprivileged tubercular children at North Lake by prominent Detroiters who support and supervise the camp. A new office building and additional cabins to cost $38,000 will be erected on this site this summer. Dr. Burt R. Shurly, member of the Detroit school board and head of the Detroit Tuberculosis hospital, is shown in the cabin of the steam shovel operating the levers, with the aid of the unseen Marvin Miller of Ann Arbor, the regular operator. Standing beside the shovel are, left, Mrs. W. Bruce Howard and, right, Mrs. Joseph T. Sinclair.
