"A poverty party was held last night by the Business and Professional Women's Club at the Geddes Road schoolhouse, with Mrs. Edna Hutzel of Washtenaw Ave., teacher at the school, as hostess. In typical Halloween setting of pumpkins, cornstalks and witches, informal games were played, and refreshments of the season were served." - October 26, 1938
