WARM AND SNUG within his shanty this fisherman, many-tined spear in hand, watches through the hole in the ice for a glimpse of his quarry. Here on Lake Charlevoix, near Boyne City, fishing shanties, complete with everything from stoves to frying pans, can be rented to ice-fishing enthusiasts. Popular all over the state, ice-fishing has become one of Michigan's major winter sports.
