$3,000 COLLECTION OF DOLLS: Miss Lotta Davies of Lansford, Pa., who gave a lecture-demonstration at the League College Workshop in Professional Education here this week, is shown with a selected group of her 700 dolls which represent the costumes, racial characteristics and customs of all the European and Asiatic countries. Her collection is valued at $3,000. Most expensive doll is the replica of Marie Antoinette in authentic costume, as shown in the center of the above picture. Mary Todd Lincoln, on the left, boasts a dress of material which was owned by the Todd family for more than 100 years. To the left of Marie Antoinette are two Belgian peasants, a Chinese medicine man, Chinese household goddess, a Chinese professor, and an Italian doll in provincial wedding costume. The one-legged sea captain is a miniature resemblance of a real captain now living in Cape Cod, and the doll on his left wears the authentic costume of the 1938 Orange Festival Queen in Spain. Miss Davies holds a doll in the Welch costume of the 19th century.
