Dolls dressed in the native garb of many different countries will be used in a window display this week at the Muehlig store, 126 S. Main St., to represent the universal nature of the annual World Day of Prayer which is being observed in 90 different countries Friday under the sponsorship of the United Council of Church Women. The dolls are the property of Mrs. William F. Bender of Ferdon Rd., who is shown above arranging the display. Mrs. Bender first started her doll-collecting hobby when her daughters outgrew the many dolls they played with. Russian peasants, a Chinese mandarin, Czechoslovakian, Swedish and Mexican girls, a Dutch boy, Scotch and Norwegian couples, and Australian natives are included in the display. The Australian natives were sent to Mrs. Bender by her husband when he was in Australia with the Army. The Ann Arbor Council of Church Women will observe the World Day of Prayer at 1:30 Friday afternoon in the First Methodist Church.
