Glassblower At Work: The ancient art of glassblowing is a long way from dead, at least in the Ann Arbor area, as evidenced here by David Myers, chairman of the Great Lakes section, American Scientific Glassblowers Society. Myers is creating a small glass animal at a meeting of the society, held at the Quality Glass Co., 2821 S. State and attended by about 20 members. Most of their work is done for scientific and medical purposes, but the making of toys, trinkets and fine glassware is still a valued skill.
