Hank Smith Feeds 8 1/2 lb. Bass, September 1966

Caption
Pampered Bass Conservation Officer Don Boyer laughs (picture at right) as he watches Hank Smith entice medium-size largemouth bass with bluegill tied to a line. The bluegill-on-a-line trick won't work with 8 1/2 pound Old Joe, though. The latter was fooled once (see story) and takes no more chances. He will swirl the water nicely (bottom picture) to grab unattached bluegill.
