Detroit Edison Co. workmen hauled to shore Saturday old sluice gates to be replaced at Barton Dam. Engineers dropped the pond level by six feet to expose the dam face from which the old wooden gates were withdrawn. Both the old and new water levels are clearly visible along the pond's shoreline. Workers, in icy temperatures, hauled the old gates (at left) to shore on rafts.
