BACH SCHOOL WINTER GARDEN: The pupils of the fifth grade at Bach school have met with success in their garden project and have created a winter garden which the school may enjoy. Each week, two of the children are assigned to the duty of caring for the garden and the girls above are Dorothy Holzhauer of 915 W. Huron St., at the left, and Marion Weinmann, of 821 W. Washington St. They were succeeded this week by Jeanne Larmee of Hutchins Ave. and Grace Haab of Second St. Mrs. Margaret Burd of Minerva Rd. is the teacher. The children have been assisted by the Ann Arbor Garden Club and Mrs. E. W. Meranda, chairman of the school garden committee of the club. Many of the plants have been raised from seed and include ivies, cacti and sedums, with a blossoming azalea. (Ann Arbor News, December 21, 1939)
