Scarlett Junior High School will not be ready to occupy until late February, the school board learned this week. That means the school will not be ready to open for the second semester, and consequently not for the entire school year. Scarlett is located on the site of Mitchell School near Platt and Lorraine on the southeast side. Scarlett, originally set to open around Feb. 1, was delayed by the six-week strike of sheetmetal workers. Also behind schedule is Clinton Elementary School.
