SWINGIN' AT SLAUSON: Director Donald Shetler (left) leads the 15-piece Slauson Junior High School dance band in a practice session. The group plays for all dances at the school. The pianist is Mike Bell. Saxophones are played by (left to right) John Peterson, Bruce Holzhauer, Don Schumann, Larry L. Gibson, and Jim Vrataric. Jim Stentzel plays the drums, Jim Thrall, the bass horn, and Joseph Hanchrow, the string bass. In the brass section (back row) are (left to right) Jack Bailey, Bryan Westfield, Mike Staebler, Dale Cunningham, Jim Diethrich and Doug Gerstler.
