IN NEWS NOVICE TOURNEY: Miss Mary Emery, age 11, was one of the final girls to enter the Ann Arbor News novice tennis tournament to be held in July. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Emery, 1429 Hill St. Miss Emery is showing good form in the above picture. Her weight is on the right foot, her racquet is well in back of her and her left arm is extended in front to give her balance. All women players in the city and Washtenaw county are eligible for the News tournament, providing they have never won a city or major championship, reside in the state of Michigan and have never been ranked nationally.
