Miss Vera Schrems of Saginaw, shown above, romped through her first set in the Michigan novice tennis tournament this morning at Palmer Field, without the loss of a game, winning 6-0 from Miss Christine Van Loo of Kalamazoo. Miss Schrems then dropped a hard-fought second set by a 6-4 score and Miss Van Loo continued to win the match by taking the final set 6-1. The semi-finals and finals in the tournament will be played tomorrow at Palmer Field.
