FRAMES ENTRANCE TO DORMITORY COURT: Only an ornamental lamp remains to be hung on the Murfin gate, erected on E. Madison St. between the Michigan Union wing (right) and Allen house, men's dormitory (left). The gateway gives access to the inner court on which the new dormitory faces. It honors James O. Murfin, who retired at the end of 1937 after nearly 20 years as a regent of the University.
