April 2, 1949: A couple of real jailbirds are in the Washtenaw County Jail. The two genuine specimens, canaries, were born in the Southern Michigan Prison at Jackson, where they were raised by a convict. When he brought them to the county jail, Sheriff John Osborn and Lt. Vincent Fox bought them (see photo)
