'FORT' OF LEAVES: Keeping children occupied and at the same time getting a household "chore" accomplished is usually hard to do, but several Ypsilanti parents found the answer. Front yards in a block of Oakwood Ave. were picked clean of fallen leaves one recent afternoon when this group of neighborhood playmates contrived a "fort" of leaves, perhaps practicing for the traditional wintertime snow fort. The six are (left to right) Pam Slagenwhite, 5, of 94 Oakwood, Tom Cox, 10, of 98 Oakwood; Ricky Slagenwhite, 9, Bob Hughes, 13, of 93 Oakwood and Jeff Slagenwhite, 7.
