NAVY HOLDS BOND DRIVE: Jack Kaufman (left), Navy V012 student, Lt. E. W. Oliver, USNR, of the Naval Architecture group, and Lt. Paul L. Blansett, USNR, bond co-ordinator for West Quadrangle, are examining the evidence of the quadrangle's special Fifth War Loan Drive, from July 1 to 8. Kaufman has purchased $2,5000 worth of bonds, but Oliver is stroking the tail of the Red Rooster for good luck because his group is ahead in the drive. The Red Rooster is the enlisted Navy man's symbol for the best battalion in various phases of Navy work and usually the battalion awarded it gets special privileges.
