RECEIVES LEGION OF MERIT AWARDED HUSBAND POSTHUMOUSLY: Mrs. Paz L. Martelino, now of Ann Arbor, widow of Col. Pastor Martelino, who died as a prisoner of the Japanese, was presented this morning with the Legion of Merit awarded posthumously for her husband's outstanding service as chief of staff and adviser to the commanding general of the Philippine Army's 31st division. Col. Karl E. Henion, commandant of the campus ROTC, is shown presenting the award. In the background are two of Mrs. Martelino's five children, Pastor jr. (right), and Lucille (center), and her niece, Lourdes Segundo (left). The ROTC staff stood in formation for the ceremony, held in front of the ROTC building.
