" Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) Time Sequence The action takes place in a summer rental home in Southampton, Long Island, New York, sometime last summer. Act I Scene 1 -July 4th 'Neekend. A sunny day. Late morning. Scene 2- One hour later. Scene 3- Two 'Neeks later. A bright, sunny morning. Scene 4 - Late the same night. Scene 5 - The following morning. Act II Scene 1 - Two 'Neeks after Carl's clam bake. A dark rainy afternoon. Scene 2- Three days later. A clear, summer evening. Scene 3- The following day. Early afternoon. Scene 4 - Three 'Neeks later. Late afternoon. Scene 5- Three days later. Labor Day 'Neekend. Evening. Scene 6 - Half an hour later. Scene 7 - Dawn, the next morning. There will be one fifteen-minute intermission.
