Rural Mail Carrier Passes Away Suddenly at Age of 54 Years
Edwin C. Krapf, 54, of 933 Dewey Ave., rural mail carrier from the Ann Arbor post office for 25 years, died suddenly at noon today following a heart attack while on duty on his route, five miles north of Ann Arbor near the Whitmore Lake road.
Mr. Krapf was 54 years old Saturday. He had been subject to slight heart attacks, according to fellow employes at the post office. He had served as a mail carrier on every rural route at the local office and at the time of his death was carrier on route No. 1, which included Dexter and Whitmore Lake roads and territory in the vicinity north of the city.
Sheriff's officers and Dr. Edwin C. Ganzhorn, coroner, were called.
Mr. Krapf is survived by the widow, Edith M. Krapf.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
