Illness Fatal To O. W. Biedermann
Otto W. Biedermann, 35, of 825 Miller Ave., manager of the Monroe office of the American Railway Express Co. and formerly depot agent of the company in Ann Arbor, died at 5:20 Wednesday afternoon at a local hospital after a week's illness.
He was born June 2, 1896, in Ann Arbor, and had been a resident of this city his entire life. Until he was made manager of the Monroe office June 1 of this year, he was the oldest employe of the American Railway Express Co. in Ann Arbor, in point of years of service.
For more than a year beginning in 1925, he was office manager of the Ypsilanti office of the express company, and then returned to his duties here. He entered the employ of the company in August, 1917.
He was married June 21, 1916, to Meno Heselschwerdt of this city. He is survived by the widow; a son, John, and a daughter, Elizabeth, both at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John K. Biedermann of this city; and five brothers and sisters, Mrs. J. M. Coon and William O. Biedermann of Ann Arbor, Fred W. Biedermann of Jackson, Mrs. Burnell Tindall of Ann Arbor, and Miss Ann Biedermann of Detroit.
Funeral services, which were private, were held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the Muehlig chapel. Rev. Theodore R. Schmale officiated and interment was in Bethlehem cemetery.
The pallbearers, fellow employes at the express office were Luther Bauer, Leslie Armbruster, Leo Strieter, Barney Briggs, Donald Mynning and Ray Rowe.
