Mrs. Nellie Winans, 60, wife of William H. Winans of Jackson road, died early this morning at a local hospital after an illness of six weeks. She was born May 23, 1871, in Salem township, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jane Corson Doane.
She had resided in Ann Arbor and vicinity her entire life. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Lady Maccabees, Margaret Rebekah lodge, Phoebe Beal circle of King's Daughters and the Methodist church of Ann Arbor.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Glen D. of Detroit, and Jay B. of Ann Arbor; two grandchildren, Robert of Ann Arbor and Jean Anne of Detroit; a brother, Henry of Salem township; a niece, Miss E. A. Doane of Ann Arbor; and a nephew, George Mosher of Northville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Whitmore Lake Methodist church. Rev. Peter Stair will officiate and burial will be in the Whitmore Lake cemetery. Friends may call at the residence on Jackson road from Wednesday noon until 10 o'clock Thursday morning.
