Mrs. Emma L. Coon, 44, wife of James M. Coon, 302 East Madison St., died Thursday night at a local hospital after an illness of one week.
Born Aug 3, 1888, in Germany, daughter of John and Anna Knorr Biederman, she was brought to this country by her parents when she was three years of age. She had been a resident of Ann Arbor and this vicinity most of her life, and for the past 10 years she has been employed by the board of education. At the time of her death she was in charge of the cafeteria at Tappan Junior High school.
Mrs. Coon was a member of Zion Lutheran church and the Ladies Arbiter society.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Christiana M., reporter for The Daily News, Louise E. and Lila M., all of Ann Arbor; two stepsons, William C. Ann Arbor and Raymond E. of Amarilla, Tex., her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Biederman of Ann Arbor; two sisters, Mrs. Burnell Tindall, Ann Arbor, and Miss Ann Biederman of Detroit; two brothers, William of Ann Arbor and Fred of Jackson, and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Muehlig chapel, Rev. E. C. Stellhorn officiating. Burial is to be in Bethlehem cemetery.
