Eugene Gauss of the Gauss Baking Co. was elected president of the bakers' division of the Ann Arbor Chamber of Commerce, organized Wednesday evening at a meeting of local bakers at the Chamber building. E. R. White of the White bakery was chosen secretary and treasurer.
The bakers discussed the standard weight for loaves of bread, and the sales tax, and will meet in the near future to give consideration to a constitution and by-laws. Represented at the meeting were Gauss Baking Co., Quality bakery, Superior firm, Modder bakery, Walker baker, McLean & Neelands, White baker and Schumann-Hotzel bakery. Hackley Butler, secretary, represented the Chamber of Commerce at the meeting.
