Miss Edith M. Walz and Roy Schairer Engaged
Announcement was made of the engagement of Miss Edith Maree Walz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Walz of Dewey Ave., and Roy Schairer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred C. Schairer, 105 South Revena Blvd., at dinner Sunday evening at the home of Mrs. Fred A. Weber, of South Seventh St.
The table was laid with a lace cloth, and was centered with a Maypole of pastel shades; the base circled with a wreath of roses. Satin streamers of pastel shades ran to each place and were held by small china dolls. The places at the table were marked by May baskets filled with mints.
At the end of the dinner each guest was allowed to pull her streamer from the May pole and each received a tiny scroll with the announcement and also verses directing each to a favor.
The following guests were present: Miss Myrtie Schairer, Miss Ruth Weisenreder, Miss Helen Russell, Miss Vera Besch, Mrs. Harold Staebler, Miss Sophie Traskos, Mrs. Gail Thomas, Miss Isabelle Lowell, Mrs. Norman Wenk, Mrs. Donald Hanna, Mrs. J. G. Walz and Miss Carolyn Ann Hayes.
No definite date has been set for the wedding, but the couple expect to be married some time in the fall.
