YPSILANTI - Henry Champion, 65 years old, resident of the same farm on the Whittaker road, south of this city, for the past 43 years, is dead following a two months' illness with influenza and complications. For the past 11 years he has been custodian of the Lincoln Consolidated Rural school, affiliated with the State Normal college here.
Mr. Champion was born Sept. 24, 1870, near Toronto, Canada, and came to Michigan with his parents at an early age. April 5, 1893, he married Miss Ina Walters, Ypsilanti, who survives him. He also leaves three brothers, William, Kalamazoo; and Charles and Robert, Jackson; and three sisters, Mrs. David Walters, Belle Glade, Fla.; Mrs. Charles Hammond, living near Ypsilanti; and Mrs. Clyde Sellows, Pontiac.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon at the home, with Rev. Ivan Gonser, pastor of Stony Creek church, officiating.
