Veteran Printer Pioneer In Linotype Field
Frederick E. Mueller, 57, of 1842 Vinewood Blvd., Ann Arbor printer, died yesterday morning after a lingering illness.
Born in Lansing, Ia., he spent his boyhood in LaCrosse, Wis. Coming to Ann Arbor 30 years ago, he entered the employ of R. T. Dobson, then publisher of the daily newspaper. For the past 25 years, he had operated his own printing establishment here. He was one of the first printers to enter the linotype field and was considered an expert and authority on that subject.
He is survived by the widow, Ann Belger Mueller; two sons and two daughters by a former marriage, Wallace and Ellis Mueller, Mrs. Bernard Furlong and Mrs. Fred L. Johnson, all of Ann Arbor; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning at the Muehlig funeral chapel. Burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery, Pontiac. Friends may call at the chapel.
