John Biedermann Dies At His Home
John K. Biedermann, 77 years old, resident of Washtenaw county for 50 years, and widely known among the German population of the city, died this morning at his home at 714 W. Liberty St. He had been in failing health for several years.
Born March 10, 1861, in Bavarian, Germany, he came to this country and to Ann Arbor in 1888. He was married in December, 1891, to Anna Knorr, also a native of Germany, who came to this country earlier in the same year.
They lived for seven years on the Norgate farm on S. State Rd. in Pittsfield township after their marriage, and since then had been residents of Ann Arbor, residing at the present address for 25 years.
Mr. Biedermann formerly was employed by the W. H. L. Rohde firm for 20 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church.
He is survived by the widow; two sons, William O. of Ann Arbor and Fred W. of Jackson, two daughters, Mrs. Burnell Tindall of Ann Arbor and Mrs. Ann Parsons of Detroit; and 10 grandchildren. Five other children, Edwin, Otto, John, Elizabeth and Mrs. Emma Coon, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Muehlig funeral chapel where friends may call. Rev. E. C. Stellhorn will officiate and burial will be in Bethlehem cemetery.
