Cornerstone Laid For New School

Exercises of laying the cornerstone for the new North Side elementary school were conducted this afternoon on the school site on the north edge of the city.

Prof. Erich A. Walter, member of the Board of Education and former president of that body, spoke before Donovan school children, who will enter the new building next fall, and north side residents were in attendance.

Sealed in the cornerstone were a box of soil kept from the groundbreaking exercises of last fall, newspaper clippings concerning the long campaign for a new north side school, various Donovan school papers, a picture of the Donovan teaching staff of several years ago, a picture of the Venetian project carried out at the school in 1928 and a picture of Patrick Donovan,. ' for whom Donovan school was named.
