Classifications For City Flower Show Announced

The classifications for the Ann Arbor Citizen’s Flower show which will be held from 1:30 to 8:30 Tuesday in the Lawyers club quadrangle, on S. State St and E. University Ave., have been announced by the committee on classifications, of which Mrs. James Inglis of Highland Rd. and Mrs. William G. Dow of Shadford Rd. are co-chairmen.

Specimens in the classes below may be entered by anyone. There is no charge for entry or for admission to the show which is open to the public. Exhibits may be entered only between 7 and 11 o’clock Tuesday morning and judging will begin at 11:30.

There will be no flower arrangements shown this year and no competition for cups, because of the limited space. Only one entry may be made by an exhibitor in each competition except in Class VII.

Mrs. Russell T. Dobson, jr., of Martin PI. is general chairman of the show, with Mrs. Willard C. Olson of Barton Hills as ticket chairman; and Mrs. Raleigh Schorling of Lenawee Dr. and Mrs. W. D. Lent-Koop of Day St., co-chairmen of entries.

CLASS I—IRIS For amateurs; varieties to be named if possible.

A. Bearded (one bloom in container )

1. Blue lavender, light tone.

2. Blue purple, medium tone.

3. Blue purple, deep tone.

4. Pink, dark tone.

5. Pink, light tone.

6. Red.

7. Red purple.

8. Brown.

9. Yellow self.

10. Yellow blend.

13. Pure white (no yellow or orange beard).

4. Best collection of Chinese double peonies, one bloom of each.

5. Best collection of five colors, three blooms of each. Each color in a separate container.

6. Best collection of Chinese double peonies, rating nine or more.
