Mrs. Goodyear's Funeral Set For 2:30 Tomorrow
Funeral services for Mrs. Delia Goodyear, 78 years old, widow of William Goodyear, founder of Goodyear's department stores, will be held at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon at the residence, 1010 Lincoln Ave. She died yesterday afternoon.
Rev. Chester Loucks, of the First Baptist church, and Rev. Howard Chapman, of Northville, who formerly was pastor of the local church, will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the Muehlig chapel this afternoon and evening and at the residence tomorrow until the service.
Mrs. Goodyear was born Oct. 8, 1863, in Sorrell, Canada, a daughter of Bruno and Adeline Rodier St. James. She married Mr. Goodyear on Oct. 10, 1888, in Detroit, and the couple moved here soon afterward. He and Mrs. Goodyear's brother, Bruno St. James, then started the department store business as partners. Mr. Goodyear died Nov. 1, 1938.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Clarence Maris, Detroit, and several nieces and nephews.
