Michigan Matmen Beat Indiana In Dual Meet, 25-13

Ordinarily a Michigan wrestling team would cherish a victory over Indiana, usually one of the foremost wrestling teams in the Big Ten. The Wolverines trounced the Hoosiers Saturday night at Bloomington, 25 to 13, but three of Cliff Keen's best men did not see action.

Claiming illness and ineligibility had wrecked his squad, Coach Billy Thom of the Hoosiers forfeited bouts to Capt. Jim Galles at 175 pounds, Bill Courtright at 165 and Ray Dean at 136. This presented the Wolverines with 15 points.

Two other Michigan men secured falls, Marvin Becker pinning Hill of the Hoosiers at 155 and Manley Johnson securing a fall over Tone of Indiana at 145.

Dick Koepl of Michigan dropped a decision to Farrel of Indiana at 121 pounds. Archer of the Hoosiers pinned Littleton of the Wolverines at the 128-pound weight while Heavyweight Al Wistert, leading on points with two go-behinds, got careless and was thrown in two minutes and 54 seconds by Patty of the Hoosiers.
