YPSILANTI - Mrs. Laura K. Weber, 51 years old, wife of Theodore S. Weber, manager of the Ypsilanti branch of the Detroit Edison Co., died at 2:30 this morning at her home, 1023 Washtenaw Ave., following an illness of 18 months.
She was born Oct. 10, 1891, in Ann Arbor, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Kress, and spent her early life there. She attended the Ann Arbor High school, and graduated as a nurse after completing her training in the Peterson private hospital in Ann Arbor. During the First World war she served as a Red Cross nurse.
On July 18, 1917 she was married to Mr. Weber, and the couple have made their home in Ypsilanti for the past 21 years. She was a member of St. John's Catholic church here, and of the Altar society of that church; the American Legion auxiliary and the Home Association here; and was Washtenaw county chairman of the organization for the prevention of cancer.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Theodore S., jr., with the Army at Fort Riley, Kas.; and Richard K., at home; one daughter, Monica M. Weber, at home; two brothers, Otto Kress, Ypsilanti, and Louis Kress, Ann Arbor; her father, in Ann Arbor; and a sister, Miss Charlotte Kress, Detroit.
Funeral services will be held in St. John's Catholic church here, but no definite date will be set until word is received from the son at Fort Riley. Burial will be in St. Thomas cemetery, Ann Arbor. Friends may call at the Weber home.
