Benjamin C. Mummery, 64, 544 Elizabeth St., died last night in St. Joseph's Mercy hospital after a brief illness.
Born June 28, 1879, in Ann Arbor, he was the son of Arthur J. and Elizabeth Mummery. A lifelong resident of this city, for the last 25 years Mr. Mummery was in the painting and decorating business. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic church and its Holy Name Society.
He was married Aug. 26, 1903, to the former Johanna Dexter of Saginaw.
Surviving are his widow, two sons, Herbert L. Mummery, Saline, A. Joseph Mummery, Ann Arbor; three daughters, Mrs. William Young and Mrs. Lon White, both of Ann Arbor, and Mrs. Horace Reid, Saginaw, and 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Arthur E. Mummery, Ann Arbor, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kitson, Ann Arbor, and Miss Mary V. Mummery, Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock, Monday morning, in St. Thomas Catholic church and the burial, immediately following, in the St. Thomas cemetery. Friends may call at the residence where the Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tomorrow night.
