Red Cross Will Send Sweaters To Nurses
Washtenaw county chapter of the Red Cross is sending to all nurses who have joined the Nursing service from this county, handknit, white wool sleeveless sweaters, Mrs. G. E. Densmore, co-chairman of the Nurse Recruitment program, has announced. The sweaters, sent by the Red Cross, with the help of nurses in the University hospital and St. Joseph's hospital, are made to wear under uniforms.
More than 150 nurses who have entered the service from Washtenaw county, have written from the British Isles, Australia, and North Africa, that, when they wear white uniforms in the hospital, they frequently feel the cold.
