MILAN - Double funeral services will be held for Mr. and Mrs. Lewis J. Dobbert at the Dobberts' residence, 1103 Hitchingham Rd., at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Dobbert, who was 73 years old, died at his home Wednesday noon following a long illness and Mrs. Dobbert, 71, succumbed to an attack of pneumonia in St. Joseph's Mercy hospital this morning. She had entered the hospital last Saturday.
The couple had lived on the farm home between Milan and Whittaker since moving there from Taylor township in Wayne county in 1927. They were married at New Boston in 1897.
Mr. Dobbert, a Wayne county native, was born June 8, 1867, and Mrs. Dobbert was born in Germany on Aug. 3, 1872.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Ella Hartwig, Carleton; Miss Martha Dobbert, at homa, and Mrs. Esther Boomus and Mrs. Myrtle Baker, both of Whittaker; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Dobbert's brother, August, also survives.
Rev. William J. Kuhlaman, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed church, Taylor Center, will officiate at the funeral services and burial will be in Marble Park cemetery here.
