John A. "Pete" Peterson, 46 years old, died this morning at his home, 1347 White St., following an illness of five months duration. He was born Aug. 8. 1897, in Manistee, but had resided in Ann Arbor the past year. He came here from Jackson where he had lived 20 years.

A graduate of the University engineering school in 1923, Mr. Peterson served as professional engineer with the Commonwealth and Southern Power Co. in Jackson and was also a director of the First Presbyterian church choir there. He had been associated with the Ford Motor Co. at Willow Run for the past year. He was affiliated with the First Methodist Church and choir here.

A veteran of World War I, Mr. Peterson served with the 32nd division headquarters company overseas. He married Elizabeth Stimson Sept. 21, 1923.

Survivors include the wife, a son, Stephen R., and a daughter, Mary Jo, both of Ann Arbor; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Peterson, Manistee; a brother, Frank Peterson, Traverse City, and two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Anderson, Manistee, and Mrs. Walter Anderson, Grand Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Muehlig chapel. Bishop Charles W. Brashares will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
