Pilot Missing

The War department has reported that Lt. Eugene W. Haner, pilot of a bomber crew based in Italy with the 15th Air Force has been missing in action since a raid over Yugoslavia on Nov. 7. Lt. Haner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Haner, of 1411 Cedar Bend Dr.

Lt. Eugene Haner Missing In Action

Fifteenth Air Force bomber pilot, Lt. Fugene V. Haner, has been missing in action since a raid over Yugoslavia on Nov. 7, according to word received by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Haner, of 1411 Cedar Bend Dr.

Lt. Haner, who received his pilots wings and commission as a second lieutenant early last spring at Lubbock Field, Tex., took his combat training at Pyote, Tex., and was sent overseas last August where he has been on active duty at a base in Italy ever since.

Former employee of the plant protection service of the Ford Motor Co., Lt. Haner entered the Army Air Force in October, 1942.

He is a graduate of St. Thomas High school and attended Michigan State Normal College, where he won freshman numerals in football.
