Miss Ella J. Hawkins

DEXTER - Miss Ella J. Hawkins, 64, of 6041 Joy Rd., Scio township, died this morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. Edward Merkel of 5360 N. Territorial Rd., Webster township, after a long illness. She was born Jan. 29, 1882, in Scio township, and was a lifelong resident of that community.
Miss Hawkins was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and of the Altar Society of the church.
She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Quinn of Saginaw, Mrs. Bert Taylor of Lima township, Mrs. Herman Birchmeier of Detroit and Mrs. Merkle, a brother, John Hawkins of the Joy Rd. address, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at St. Joseph's church with Rev. Charles T. Walsh officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's cemetery. Friends may call at the Gorman funeral home, Dexter.
