Veteran Barber Dies At His Home
Charles Albert Boland, 72 years old, died at his home, 1309 S. State St., last night following a six-months illness.
For 53 years Mr. Boland had been a barber in Ann Arbor after coming here from Albion. His present shop was located at 105 S. Fourth Ave. For several years he barbered for William O. Thomas in the basement of the old Farmers and Mechanics bank.
Mr. Boland was a member of the Dunbar Community Center.
Survivors include the wife, M. Belle Boland, a daughter, Mrs. Virgil Huey, Ann Arbor; a sister, Mrs. William Coner, also of Ann Arbor; one granddaughter and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Second Baptist church at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with Rev. C. W. Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Friends may call at the Dolph funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 until 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
