Mrs. Walker Charged With First Degree Murder In Warrant

Municipal Judge Jay H. Payne today signed a first degree murder warrant formally charging Mrs. Victoria Walker with the fatal shooting of her two children. The warrant was authorized by Detective Irvin Klager of the sheriffs office.

Mrs. Walker is accused of murdering Patricia Edna Walker, three, and Robert Earl Walker, two, in the family's home at 1645 S. Maple Rd. last week. She has confessed the double slaying.

Physicians treating the 24-year-old mother in St. Joseph’s Mercy hospital for gunshot wounds, sustained in a suicide attempt after the alleged murder, yesterday authorized her transfer to Ypsilanti State mental hospital.

Mrs. Walker will remain at the hospital until a sanity hearing, required by Michigan law in all murder cases, can be conducted.
